Born on August 23, 1973, in Lisbon, Vítor Casqueiro, created a link with martial arts from an early age. In 1988, he began training in Gongfu and later, in 1991, in Shotokan Karate.
In 1992, his training gained consistency at the YMAA school, under the guidance of Master Yang, Jwing-Ming , which resulted not only in added value, but also in the search for a deeper knowledge, about the true essence and meaning of Chinese martial arts.
Since then, he has been enriching his experience as a practitioner and instructor of Chinese martial arts, directing efforts to stay up to date and achieve higher levels of instruction. In this context, in 1999 he obtained the level of Shaolin Assistant Instructor and in 2001 he obtained the level of Taiji Assistant Instructor.
Trainings, seminars and workshops, both nationally and internationally, have become a constant key to its evolution, and training by Yang’s Martial Arts Association (USA, France, Hungary, Poland and Portugal), training by the Portuguese Federation of Chinese Martial Arts (Coach Course, Taolu Referee Course and Sanda Referee Course), and the level I Chinese Language Course by the Macau Economic and Commercial Delegation, in Lisbon .
In October 2005 he attained the level of Shaolin Instructor, in March and November 2007 he attained the level of Taiji Instructor and Assistant Qin Na Instructor, respectively. Later, in 2011, he acquired the degree of Assistant Qigong Instructor.
It should also be noted that since 2005 he has held the position of President of YMAA Portugal, which has been consolidating and preserving the values and philosophy of traditional Chinese martial arts.
Formally accepted as a disciple of Master Yang, Jwing-Ming, on October 30, 2010.
Shaolin Master degree is awarded in October 2014, and Taijiquan Master degree in March 2017.
